Feel the love

Over the weekend, the wife dislocated her left knee while ice skating, out of town, on vacation. So, we all need to pitch in more now that mommy can't do as much, so I told the kids. Today, the wife asked for her microwaveable slippers for her cold feet. I nudged the boy and asked him to step to it. His response was "She's your wife, you do it." Can't you just feel the love? We all look forward to a speedy recovery.

In my head

OK OK, no jokes please. Just enjoy the following.

IN MY HEAD

There’s a place in my head
That no one knows about
Where I can run, I can jump
I can scream and I can shout

From this special place
I can travel anywhere I please
Spelunking in an artic cave
Or hiking in the Pyrenees

I’m a buccaneer
Riding high on the seven seas
I’m a goshawk
Floating on the warm summer breeze

In my head I can go
To places I’ve never been before
To the top of the highest mountain
The beach of the farthest shore

I can write a poem that doesn’t rhyme
Save the city from organized crime
Fight a monster made of slime
Save the universe one more time

I am the mightiest ruler
And the lowliest pawn
But I’ll be back
Before you know I’m gone

I am never gone long enough
For you to miss me
And when I get back
I know you’ll kiss me

Rug Town

I learned a valuable lesson as a parent the other day, I'd like to share it. Children do not get subtlety. Here is my experience:
After a shower, the boy always leaves his wet towel on his bedroom floor. I mentioned to him that the two towels on the floor looked like rugs. He continued reading with no response. I began singing:
Cone on down
To Rug Town
They come in blue
They come in brown
Don't you frown
Don't get down
Just come on down
To Rug Town

Still, no response. I finally wadded up the towel and threw it at his head. "OK, I'll hang it up, jeez!" Yes, parents, subtlety does not work. Save time and go for the towel to the head right away.

Word of the Day

Hello, and welcome to another edition of Word of the Day! This is the portion of the show where you are schooled in the new hip words all the cool kids are using. Today's word is - Pimpin' Defined as; cool, hip, stylish, cutting edge of fashion. Usage - "That hat is pimpin!" Word origin - (Paretnal advisory - the following is not suitable for children under the age of puberty and senile adults) Pimpin comes from the word Pimp, first used in the 1970's on TV shows like Starsky & hutch. My children were using Pimpin all weekend long, as they complimented each onther on their attire. Isn't it great how street slang enters everyday life. I can't wait for bling and props.
